Permanent residence and long-term EU resident status

A permanent residence permit is issued for an indefinite period, though the residence card itself must be renewed every ten years. Long-term EU resident status is a separate procedure, available after an uninterrupted stay in Poland.

Who this is for

  • Holders of the Pole's Card
  • Spouses of Polish citizens, after the required period of marriage and residence
  • Children of Polish citizens or of people with a permanent residence permit
  • People after the required period of uninterrupted legal stay

Documents you'll need

An indicative list — the exact documents depend on the basis of the application.

  • A completed application and four photographs
  • A valid travel document with a copy
  • Documents confirming the basis for applying for the permit
  • Documents confirming an uninterrupted stay in Poland
  • For EU resident status: proof of Polish language knowledge, stable income and insurance

What we do

  • We check whether the period of stay counts as uninterrupted
  • We choose whichever procedure is more advantageous for your situation
  • We assemble documentation confirming your residence history
