Driving licence exchange

A foreign driving licence can be exchanged for a Polish one if it was issued by a country that is party to the relevant convention. In some cases a theory exam is required; in others the exchange happens without one.

Who this is for

  • People whose period of recognition for a foreign document is ending
  • Professional drivers who need a Polish document

Documents you'll need

An indicative list — the exact documents depend on the basis of the application.

  • An application for the licence exchange
  • The original foreign driving licence together with a sworn translation
  • A photograph meeting the requirements
  • A document confirming residence in Poland

What we do
